Air Supply wins "Lonely No More" face-off!

AIR SUPPLY "TWO LESS LONELY PEOPLE IN THE WORLD"
vs. JUSTIN BIEBER "ONE LESS LONELY GIRL"

Borrowing the words from a Boys Like Girls and Taylor Swift song: "Two Is Better Than One." That's what Air Supply proved when they thinly edged out Justin Bieber in the closest ever Face-Off Poll. Dubbed as Lonely No More, the duo's "Two Less Lonely People in the World" got 133 votes or 51% beating the newcomer's "One Less Lonely Girl" which came in with 127 votes or 49%. The difference of only 6 votes is the slimmest Face-Off Poll margin to date. With their win, Graham and Russell also broke the more likely result that a new song would dominate against an old song. Clearly, Air Supply still has an ample supply of air.

Face-Off Poll: Will You Be There?

DEATH CAB FOR CUTIE "MEET ME ON THE EQUINOX"
vs. BLACK EYED PEAS "MEET ME HALFWAY"

Being part of the soundtrack of New Moon apparently does not guarantee a win. Death Cab for Cutie fell short in CC[P]'s most recent Face-Off Poll as their song "Meet Me on the Equinox" succumbed to the Black Eyed Peas' "Meet Me Halfway". Perhaps it could gain popularity when the much anticipated second movie of the Twilight saga starts showing on cinemas tomorrow. Meanwhile, BEP proves that their energy never dies as they are still hot after their 26-week uninterrupted reign at the Billboard Hot 100.

Black Eyed Peas "Meet Me Halfway": 166 (77%)
Death Cab for Cutie "Meet Me on the Equinox ": 50 (23%)
Total votes: 216

After 2NE1 won against Fall-Out Boy in our previous face-off, another Korean group has made it to the winner's list! This time, it's Girls' Generation defeating solo artist Christian Bautista in the most recent Face-Off Poll (FOP). Also known as So Nyeo Shi Dae or SNSD, the 9 members of the group used their genie powers to charm two-thirds of the respondents in voting for "Tell Me Your Wish (Genie)" over "Tell Me Your Name" by the Filipino balladeer.

Here are the figures:

We will soon find out as CC[P] brings you Part 3 of our K-Pop vs. The World series: it's the Mandarin subgroup of SuJu going up against Sasha Fierce. In our recent Face-Off Poll, Michelle Branch dominated against Jewel. Womanizer wins over Babaero

Britney chosen over Randy Santiago in CC(P) poll

In a face-off battle between a Filipino and a foreign song, old and current, male and female, accusation and denial, your votes have finally decided which contender has become victorious.

Britney Spears "Womanizer" wins the poll by getting roughly 7 out of every 10 votes cast; Randy Santiago "Babaero" meanwhile only got 3 out of every 10 votes cast.

Aside from the titles being Filipino-English equivalents, both songs actually have something else in common: repetition. Britney sings "...woman-womanizer" while Randy goes "ba-babaero" in his chorus.

So you have made your choice: the current foreign song sung by the female accuser over the non-current Filipino song sung by the male defendant. Here is the final tally:

Britney Spears - Womanizer 75 (69%)
Randy Santiago - Babaero 34 (31%)
Total votes: 109
